Now there will be no more Lightbringer books. And I think, for the most part, it was definitely worth the wait. Sure, it was a year longer than the typical two years between the other Lightbringer books, but it's not like we're looking at Authors-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named wait times, here. Three years, in the scheme of time between fantasy epics, isn't really all that long. This is not a dig against Weeks's writing speed. And then I waited what seemed like an interminable number of years for the conclusion. I eagerly waited a couple months for The Blood Mirror, and then devoured that one, too. That summer I devoured the first three volumes the way Kip claimed he devoured pie back in his hometown. This is it! The big one! The one we've all been waiting for!Īnyone who knows me can attest that I have been absolutely in love with Brent Weeks's Lightbringer series since I first learned of its existence in 2016.
